History of the Tournament

The Father Davenport Memorial Golf Tournament was created in memory of our beloved Father Clement Arthur Davenport, who was an avid golfer and inspiring spiritual advisor at Nativity Catholic Church in Menlo Park, CA. The inaugural event took place on October 4, 2014 with a total of 40 golfers and patrons who participated.  It was a hugely successful event that brought together golfers of all ages and skill levels. As with all Men’s Club events of Nativity School, the tournament fostered a great sense of community and camaraderie – so much that is has become an annual tradition that everyone looks forward to. The event culminates in an awards ceremony that acknowledges and rewards the various winners in the tournament – rewarding not only skill but effort, spirit, and creativity.
